General Choi Honghi is the founder of Taekwon-Do, and he named it in 1955.

The white belt represents innocence, having no prior knowledge of TaeKwon-Do.

The yellow stripe represents the seed of Taekwon-Do.  

What does TaeKwon-Do mean?

TaeKwon-Do means “The Way of the Hand and Foot”. 

  • Tae:  Jumping, Flying, and Kicking with the Foot
  • Kwon:  Denotes the Fist, to Punch, or Destroy with the Hand
  • Do: An Art, or the Way, which Means the Constant Effort of the Martial Artist to Improve in Every Way of Life. 
How wide is a Parallel Ready Stance?

The Parallel Ready Stance is shoulder width wide, measured from little toe to little toe. It has no length.  The feet are straight. The weight distribution is 50% on each foot, or 50/50.
