Tiger Strips Requirements

Green Strip

(1/2 the normal width on the white belt)

Students must bow when entering or leaving the dojang floor.
Greet black belts with bow and Taekwon.
Proper handshake.
Deflect ear grabs.
Saying yes sir (ma’am) and no sir(ma’am) to black belts.
Listening Position #1, #2 and #3
Student must perform side bends and twisting exercises properly.
Student must know how to count from 1 to 4 in Korean.
Student must learn how to make a fist properly and consistently.
Sitting stance punch using the up/down motion.
Parallel ready stance – hands 1 inch apart, 2 inches from the navel with eyes just above the horizon, no smiles.
Holding a side straddle stretch, no hands, and then with hands down.
Split with one hand on each side of outstretched leg.
10 perfect push ups.
Jumping jacks
Tying the belt properly.
Know their left and right.
Routine for joining class which has already started.

Red Strip

(1/2 the normal width on the white belt)

Know some Korean (dobuk, dojang, charyot, Kyung-niet, Jhoon-Bee, She-jak, goh man) Knowing the four directions and letters Student must know how to count to 10 in Korean. Obverse and reverse side Dirty half dozen Frontal 5 Basic knowledge (yellow stripe requirement sheet) Headlock escape Full nelson escape Pin escape Rolls and falls Accepting an award or promotion run up routine Proper KIAP!

Blue Strip

(1/2 the normal width on the white belt)

Bopper- ninja warrior Duck, jump- move Blocking rapid fire squares in a fighting stance guarding block. Getting up defensively Clam Four point stance upside and downside Three point stance, back piercing & punch Wrist releases Lapel grab release Escape from choke hold Jumping over the river- feet together, using the swing of the arms

Black Strip

(1/2 the normal width on the white belt)

Student must perform fighting stance, guarding forearm block. Must perform jab and punch, rotating back foot on the ball shifting in fighting stance From a fighting stance- shift-jab Correct walking stance- width and length, front leg bent, back leg locked Walking stance punch, shoulders square with wrist straight as high as solar plexus, other hand on hip. Step through and punch using c-stepping. 4 movements going front with walking stance outer forearm block 4 movements going front with walking stance inner forearm block Low block forearm and knifehand Rising kick over head Middle snap kick Middle side piercing kick Middle back leg turn kick (all three kicks above the belt consistently)
